Aurangabad based Endress + Hauser Flowtec (I) Pvt. Ltd. is using clean and eco-friendly power generated by solar power plant. The solar modules are installed on the factory rooftop. Earlier the company had installed on the available RCC roofs. In addition, the company has now installed on the curved metal sheet roof of the premises.
Sunshot has done the EPC of this solar plant. The total plant capacity is 885 kWp. Of this, 750 kWp solar power plant has been installed on a curved sheet roof. The solar plant is expected to generate 13 Lakh units of electricity annually.
Workers’ safety was a major concern during installation as the roof curvature is very steep. Specially designed walkways are installed, and customized harnesses are used on the roof for easy access during installation and for operation and maintenance activities post installation. The system has been installed with zero accidents.
To maximize power generation, the solar modules must be cleaned on a regular basis. The company has installed water sprinklers along module tables to simplify cleaning activity. The solar power plant is monitored through cloud-based online monitoring and control system developed by Sunshot. The system helps obtaining in data driven predictive maintenance.
The system also helps in synchronising solar plant to diesel generator sets along with grid power. The solar power plant is helping in reducing more than 1000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Endress + Hauser Flowtec (I) Pvt. Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Endress+Hauser Flowtec AG, Switzerland. The Aurangabad facility manufactures and supplies electromagnetic flowmeters, Coriolis mass flowmeter, vortex and ultrasonic flowmeters to India, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Additionally, Division Aurangabad is supplying vortex flowmeters to TLV Japan. The plant employs about 115 people.
