ESPI is a leading name in the pharmaceutical industry. The company offers contract manufacturing services to other pharma companies and work along the same discipline and consistency while providing innovative solutions for new product development.
In view of reducing the cost of power, ESPI decided to install a rooftop solar plant at their factory premises. The solar plant is installed on the RCC rooftop of the facility. Sunshot has installed the plant on a raised structure such that space below can be used as a cafeteria.
The modules installed here are manufactured with PERC (Passive Emitter Rear Cell) technology. This technology lends a higher module efficiency (19%) and increases the gross generation by 14% over standard modules used in the market. This technology helps in generating electricity in low light conditions. Total 292 of these modules are installed for the project.2 inverters installed at ESPI are of 36 kW capacity with 4 MPPT. These IP65 class inverters can perform 8 strings intelligent monitoring and fast troubleshooting of the solar modules.
A great deal of emphasis has been put on the module mounting structure and components. Sunshot’s engineering team has ensured that raised structure is lightweight, leak-proof, corrosion free and can withstand up to 180 kmph wind conditions with ease.
The plant is installed under the ‘Net Metering’ scheme of TSSPDCL. Net Metering allows the customer to put excess generated solar power into the power grid and get ‘Set-off’ benefit in the electricity bill for grid power consumed when solar power is not available.
Sunshot has installed its state-of-the-art Cloud-Based IoT Platform which helps us to do data-driven Operation & Maintenance. This also enables the customer to monitor the plant in real time and get timely performance related updates.
