Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore

Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore
Total Plant Capacity:
3.35 MWp
Annual Power Generated:
47 Lakh Units
Annual GHG Emissions Reduced:
4000 Tons

The majority part of the system is installed on one of the largest roofs of the premises; this is also the largest rooftop solar plant on a single rooftop of any airport in the country.

  • The system is installed on 8 different rooftops of the airport premises
  • Of the total capacity of 3.35 MWp, 1.29 MWp is installed on a single rooftop
  • Specially designed walkways were installed before installing solar module mounting structures. These are also used for operation and maintenance activities post-installation
  • The system is installed using world-class equipment. The modules installed are manufactured with PERC (Passive Emitter Rear Cell) technology. This technology lends higher module efficiency (19%) and increases the gross generation by 14% over standard modules used in the market
  • PVFix branded structures are used for mounting solar modules. The structure designs are customized as per roof structure and orientation to firmly hold modules during adverse climatic conditions and to optimize generation per sq. ft.
  • The plant adheres to all the international safety standards
  • The entire solar power plant is remotely monitored online through Sunshot’s cloud-based IoT platform. The system communicates with each inverter, energy meter, and automatically reports are generated on a real-time basis
  • Sunshot’s propitiatory controller system syncs solar plant with DG sets along with Discom meters
