The MCCIA plays a significant role in accelerating the industrial and economic development of Pune region. It is one of the most active chambers of Commerce in India and has been instrumental in promoting a number of institutions in Pune. MCCIA has continuously driven to make Pune a global business destination and has been a catalyst for economic development of the region.
In view of reducing the cost of electricity and to set an example to go green for its members, MCCIA decided to install solar power plants at their facilities at Bhosari and Hadapsar. At Bhosari, a 15.9 kWp solar plant is installed and at Hadapsar, 15 kWp is installed. At both the facilities, some part of the system is installed as a rooftop cafeteria.
Both the plants are installed under the ‘Net Metering’ scheme of MSEDCL. In this, the excess power generated is fed to the grid and the MCCIA gets a set-of for the number of units fed to the grid.
At Bhosari, they were able to reduce the cost of the bill to almost 40% from the first month itself. At Hadapsar, installation of solar was considered right from building planning stage.
Both the solar plants are monitored online by Sunshot’s proprietary controller systems. These help in reducing downtime by conducting preventive maintenance activities.
